MS and Food

Reaction to food

Hi, I'm trying to figure out exactly how much time passes after you have eaten a food item that you're sensitive to before you get a reaction. I know that everyone's reaction time is personal but I'd like to have a general idea.
Also does it matter the amount of food? Is MS triggered just by tasting a culprit food or do you have to eat lots of it?

Uh oh! Recipes.

Thanks for the successful use of the paleolithic diet in the MS Recovery Diet. As I went through the recipes at the end of the book, I realized a revised edition is perhaps in order. Like you, I had to revise as I discovered new things and as I unknowingly ate the "bad stuff" that caused reactions to my body, setting me back in my healing. I consumed several legumes that are listed in the recipes and there are probably other MS sufferers who are very sensitive, like me. The symptoms in many won't go away until these legumes are removed from their diet: Carob, Soy, Peas, Cashews, Cocoa, Green Beans, Peanuts, Guar Gum, and Lentils are all substances that stunted my healing because they are all legumes. I tried gluten-free soy sauce until I realized I can't have soy! And they use soy in all sorts of sauces and marinades. I cried when I realized what I'd been doing and that it led to my falling and suffering. Since I eliminated these items in January, I've been on a very slow but steady climb toward recovery. :-)

I hope this information helps others in their search for a symptom-free life!

Vacation!

We just got back from vacation to the buffet capital in the USA, Myrtle Beach. I had been on the diet for almost 4 months. Any other time I could not resist temptation; but this year was very different, the difference was the recovery diet. My beautiful wife was so helpful! I cheated 1 time and that was due to peer pressure, my cheating was eating a baked potatoe, and for that evening I had tingling around the eyes, I will tell you first hand the diet works, hands down.

Try it, you won't believe until you expirence it.

White tea

I have found that white tea causes a buzzing and tingling reaction with me , so i have eliminated it from my diet. I believe it is the caffine it contains. Any thoughts?

Honey

Is honey an exceptable sweetner on the MS diet?
