The MS Recovery Diet

Anyone tried Mimic Creme?

I found a non-dairy, gluten free cream substitute made from almonds and cashews called Mimic Creme. I ordered it from Amazon.com and it just showed up today! They have a sugar-free sweetened version that sweetened with Erythritol. You can make ice cream with it! I'm going to try it for ice cream, put it in my oatmeal and my once a week decaf coffee splurge... can't wait! Has anyone else tried it?

This is their website: www.mimiccreme.com and you can order 4 at a time from Amazon.

Questions on Efficacy of Diet

hello everyone,

my girlfriend was just diagnosed with ms a few days ago and we are basically in shock. she is 20 years old and we think it may have been caused by the gardasil vaccine shot. right now, she has no lesions in her brain or spine, but her lumbar puncture came back positive. she is to see a specialist soon. we have bought this book and we are going to do the diet together because of the stories we have learned about it changing people's lives. right now, she has constant pain in her eyes due to optic neuritis, often has pains in her legs, sometimes has urinary incontinence problems, and currently has pains in her back.

we would like to know if anyone has optic neuritis and have noticed an improvement of it through this diet?

also, if the ms is in fact caused by the gardasil, then will this diet actually help with her symptoms in general?

thank you.

Food Tracking

I was surfing the net and I came across a website where you can track what you eat everyday and it adds everything up for you. It's free in it's basic form but if you want more info you need to pay a yearly fee. It is on www.Livestrong.com and it's called the daily plate. What I like about it is that all the strange foods that I have been finding are already on this and so i just pick the food from a list rather than having to enter all of the info. I may even pay and get the one with more nutritional info just to see what it is like. Also, if you need the info to bring to your doctor or nutritionist there is an area where you can print it out. I have been doing it for a couple days and it's really easy. I like that I can track everything I am eating and since I am new to the diet, i am hoping it will help with insight about what triggers me. Just thought I'd mention this as it's just another tool we can use and it's free....

Mother of person with MS that has questions

My son was diagnosed with in MS in 2003 and until now there seem to be no problems. Just within the last 2 years his doctor has changed his medicine and now he is having difficulty walking and keeping his balance. He is 25 years old, married, has 3 children and has been let go from his job due to his lack of balance. We are looking for alternative methods of treatment so that he can come off of the injections. While he was on the web, he came across this site and we are very interested. But there has been so much conflicting information that we have come in contact with since we have been looking for alternative ways. He has changed his diet to basically just vegetables with no meat. Some people say that this is the correct way and other say that he should have some meat for protein. He is so confused and starting to get frustrated. He is not one to give in to something and he is not giving into this. He is determined that he is going to get healed from this and be able to play with his children again. I need help with this one. As a parent, you always think that you can handle anything that they come up against but I don't seem to know what to do or where to go on this one. Please help me to help my son. Tell me the benefits and downfalls on this diet. Give me some comformation that everything is going to be alright.
