Like many of you I've researched and refined my diet using the Paleolithic road. The more I refine, the better I feel. I've gone from bed-ridden to walking on my own with a cane currently. Here's a letter I sent to the site regarding nightshades and Judi suggested I send the info here:
"Greetings fellow MS sufferers and Paleolithic consumers. I noticed a question that you had in regards to nightshades (tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes etc.) and that there is no scientific proof that eliminating these items from your diet would help those with MS. And for a long time there wasn't. Ashton Embry, however, has asked Dr. Loren Cordain Ph D, author of The Paleo Diet, to speak in front of many in regards to paleolithic eating and MS. Have you seen him? You can find doctor Cordain's talks on YouTube, made by DirectMS. Dr. Cordain explains how nightshades actually increase gut permeability and so add to our experiencing our symptoms. He also discussed the proteins found in grains (gluten,) proteins found in dairy (casein) and legumes and how they create molecular mimicry that leads to our suffering.
Your book is fabulous, by the way, and I hope many more MS sufferers can find it on their road to recovery. The exercises have helped me immensely. There may not be a cure, but we can be healthier and happier because we have taken an active role in our healing! Thank you for sharing your stories!
Rosalie"

Hi my name is James and my partner has MS. The frustrating thing is I'm confident your book will work but my partner's mother is her carer and disregards your book and won't even give it a chance. My partner is bed ridden, can barely talk most times and muscle's are slowly going away.
I've tried the diet awhile back for a week with my partner and noticed results. Her left hand which is in a curl shape opened for the first time in a long time also her speech was really good. Her right arm was almost moving at will. Being close to her a lot of the time you notice the smallest difference's. I was just surprise by how much your book had an effect on my partner in such a short space of time.
That one week was a long time ago. My partner's mother said the neurologist said she can eat anything she wanted so her mother would rather listen to the "Doctor" then to a book.
Frustrating because my partner doesn't have to be in the state she's in. I know this book will work for her but her mother, community support officer, social worker and doctor are non believers. How do I convince these people the effectiveness of this wonderful book? I don't want to see my partner whether away when there's something real out there that can help her. The medical profession has failed with all their so called medical "wisdom" to find anything. This book is a proven entity. Someone please help me.
James Harriman.
Hi all - I've been on the diet since February, feeling much better with still occasional sensory symptoms but no new lesions on the MRI. I've been taking Avonex since 2005, and honestly am just tired on being down, depressed and tired all the time, (not sure it's primarily due to the medication, but I'm sure they're not helping). I would like to get off the medication but obviously worried about what this would do to the progress of the disease.
I would greatly appreciate anyone's experience regarding getting off ABC drugs, any negative or positive side effects, and whether you would recommend it!
Thanks.
which cabbage soup diet is the best recipe
The Cabbage Soup Diet is a relatively new diet craze that continues to gain popularity. The diet consists of an “extreme” diet, and should only be used for 7 days. The Cabbage Soup Diet is used as a starting place for a more long term diet. It is not healthy to use the Cabbage Soup Diet for more than 7 days, as you don’t get all the nutrients your body needs.

Is the grapefruit diet the same as a grapefruit juice cleanse?
I'd love to hear from anyone who didn't see any improvements for long periods after starting the diet. I started the diet on February 14, 2009 and my symptoms have gotten considerably worse since then. I have lost almost 25 pounds which is awesome but my walking, balance, bladder control, numbness & tingling have not improved and in some cases have deteriorated more. I've tried to follow the diet as closely as possible with little cheating. I'm trying to remain positive and realize it's taken me 11 years of disease to get here, so things won't improve overnight. I thought after 5 months I'd see some improvement. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
