CCSVI questions

I am at my wits end here. I have been following the recommended eating regimine for a year and like others when I started I was using a regular cane to walk. Now I can barely use a quad cane and often use a walker. The only time I go out is for doctor appointments. I am just getting depressed about this. But, I do know one thing for sure. I can never and will never go back to eating the way I used to. Having made the mistake of eating the wrong thing for me without thinking, within minutes, I could not walk. I did it deliberately a second time to be sure and let's just say, I'M SURE! So I am convinced what we eat is key. Now re: CCSVI which I am very interested in, what type of doctor should we see first about this? Because I know my neuro shrugged it off when I just mentioned it. For a while I fell off the info train re: CCSVI. Because it is still relatively new, are people still having good reults and are the results lasting long term so far? Any info would be of help while I catch up on my CCSVI research. Thank you!

Tzootsi---Thank you for

Tzootsi---Thank you for responding. The info you replied with is very helpful! Good luck with your wife's CCSVI treatment. Having to go for it 3 times seems a little much, but I can't say I blame her. The third time might be her charm, ya never know. Once again, thank you for responding and good luck with your wife's next and hopefully last try!

Joan, my wife has been

Joan, my wife has been following the diet for several years, and it's help keep her MS at bay. However, she has also been found to have CCSVI, and has been treated twice so far. The first treatment definitely helped many of her symptoms, but within 5 months they started creeping back. It was found she had re-stenosed. She went in for a second treatment two months ago, and didn't see too much improvement. She in for another check up a few weeks ago - sure enough she has re-stenosed again. She will probably go back for a third time in the next few months. She is not thrilled about going in for a third time, but judging from her first treatment, opening her blocked veins does reverse symptoms, as long as they stay open! The procedure itself is quite easily tolerated, she is home within 3 hours. We found a doctor (interventional radiologist) by just calling one in our area out of the blue - he was very interested, and has been great. Since then he has treated several others. There are many, many doctors throughout the USA now performing the procedure, including the American Access Care clinics, the Hubbard Foundation, etc. Go to thisisms.com and the CCSVI Alliance for a wealth of info on CCSVI.
