I was surfing the net and I came across a website where you can track what you eat everyday and it adds everything up for you. It's free in it's basic form but if you want more info you need to pay a yearly fee. It is on www.Livestrong.com and it's called the daily plate. What I like about it is that all the strange foods that I have been finding are already on this and so i just pick the food from a list rather than having to enter all of the info. I may even pay and get the one with more nutritional info just to see what it is like. Also, if you need the info to bring to your doctor or nutritionist there is an area where you can print it out. I have been doing it for a couple days and it's really easy. I like that I can track everything I am eating and since I am new to the diet, i am hoping it will help with insight about what triggers me. Just thought I'd mention this as it's just another tool we can use and it's free....

The other nice feature is the meal builder. If there are meals you eat regularly, you can put all the info into one thing and label it "turkey dinner" or whatever. then when you eat it again, just put that in instead of adding everything separately. i found a lot of my supplements were in there and so I grouped them together under daily vitamins and put it in everyday. I liked the site because it had a lot of the strange foods I end up buying, already in there. And it's also easy to ad ones that arent in there yet.

Then I'm with you! I'd the extra I save from the site, on something fun to try, this way if eating is certainly NOT cheap! After doing this for over 6 weeks, I do have a general idea of the saturated fats in most regular things -- thank the internet for that, aren't we lucky~ But I do love this site, did it today and it just is so helpful with keeping everything real, instead of sorta 'forgetting' certain items!~!! lol I've been religious about keeping a food journal, and will probably keep doing so, although it seems a bit redundant, but writing things down just helps to make it real also. We (my boyfriend and I) are actually enjoying this challenge, reading labels and recognizing triggers. What a blessing to have a partner that really enjoys sharing everything!

It does the breakdown of fats if you pay for the site. they have a pay version and a free version. I did try the pay version to see what it was like and found it's not worth it. The free version is great. I just try to keep track of the sat fats in my head. It makes tracking easy. there is also a place you can write a diary so you can record your symptoms or how you are feeling each day and compare that with what you eat. I find it very helpful!
Glad you like it!

This site was way fun and so many things to plug in as far as foods and exercise, just took me like half an hour!! I think I'll do it for a while, then maybe once or twice a week just to confirm that I'm still on track! I don't see any breakdown of fats, however, with saturated and unsaturated -- did I miss something? Was a tad confusing at first, but then I worked a lot this weekend and tired myself out, so might have just been brain dead! Thanks for sharing this site with us!
Good info, thanks!
