For the people who are having trouble gettting their recovery started

Several months ago, I wrote a blog soliciting reports on how the diet is working, especially from people who are having trouble getting their recovery started. We have heard from a few people, have gotten most of them improving, and in the process have learned more. So far, here are my impressions of the issues that are blocking recovery.
1. Digestive problems- If the digestive system is not functioning well, healing can be blocked. We have have reports from people that once they cleared those problems, symptoms abated. There is a good book by Lipsky called Digestive Wellness that explains the digestive system and how to keep it healthy. On the web are articles, especially one by Dr. Leo Galland, on Leaky Gut.
2. Poorly nourished, run down body-- You need to be well nourished to heal. Some people had followed very restrictive diets or simply had lost interest in food. You need strength to heal, so eat well and enough to give you energy to heal.
3. Stress- As we've written before, stress can undo all the healing efforts. Stress is powerful, don't underestimate it.
4. Not understanding the diet and eating a trigger inadvertantly. Sugar and fats are often hidden, or we don't think of them. Wheat, eggs and dairy are found in more foods than we would think. This problem will be solved as a person works with the diet and their body.
Again, we are still learning and encourage you to share your successes and frustrations with us. Hopefully soon the medical establsihment will pay attention and do some research on the diet so we can verify and fine tune the diet.
