Flu Shot?

Is there any recommendation as to whether or not to get the flu shot? I have a 7-month old and a 4-year old, so germs can get around. I typically don't get the flu, but as I was dx 4 mos. ago, I am now wondering what this ole body is going to do. Are we more vulnerable to getting the flu than before dx? Would it be a good thing to get the shot, as I am the primary caretaker during the day? Or is it better to avoid the shot (I have no idea what it may do to my system now) and avoid any potential kinks in the diet, etc? I used to get the shot, but haven't for the past couple of years.

Thank-you so much Teena

Hello, I believe in the flu

Hello,
I believe in the flu shot, especially for certain circumstances ie-parents of small children in daycare, health workers, etc. I do have a bias regarding vaccination since I am a nurse in a busy vaccination clinic. I don't believe anyone would want the fever and chills associated with influenza. I don't believe the vaccine is dangerous and it does not cause the flu. I strongly encourage it.
Just my opinion!
Good luck,
Teena Marie

Hi justsmile.
I have just had a quick check on the web, and it`s entirely your choice. There are no reasons for you not to have one, although if you were having a relapse it would`nt be recommended as it could prolong it. Hope this helps you make your decision
