Listening to All the bodies feedback-Do I need to see a GI specialist?

I would like to hear from anyone who has seen their recovery progress through changes in their digestive output? I now know I was living with a food sensativity (probably to gluten). Based on the reading I have done and what I see, there has been significant healing in my digestive system. Why is there no mention of this aspect in the book or on this site? Is this a topic that is culturally unacceptable to speak of? Has anyone used this insight into their bodies to chart their progress? After all, we are healing a 'leaky gut'!

Sarah, Thanks for your

Sarah,
Thanks for your reminder to stick to the book, I have faith. However, I liken that approach to forecasting the weather without looking out the window.

Hi Pinkhaus.

Hi Pinkhaus.
Although there is no specific chapter dedicated to leaky gut syndrome in the book, the general basis of the diet is to improve digestion by the removal of our sensitivites, so therefore the gut will naturally begin to heal, and not let the suspect foods permeate the gut wall and activate the immune system. Im no expert on this subject, but as long as you continue to keep to the diet as strictly as possible, im sure you`ll continue to improve. I have suffered with digestive problems for as long as i can remember, but am feeling so much better on this more than healthy way of eating. There is so much information out there, i think it can all become a bit overwhelming. I have tried on and off for 3 years to adhere to certain diets, but found once i read one thing, someone else would totally contradict it! Ann and Judi have managed to produce a book in laymans term that just states the facts, fair and square, it has been a wonderful awakening for me!!

Hope you continue to improve.
Regards Sarah.
